One holds out a cracker to Katniss with the image of her mockingjay in the center. They decide to head there but on the way they see Cato running straight at them. It also reveals how kindness, love and manipulation significantly affect our lives. Katniss and Gale catch some fish and then head back into town to sell the catches at a place called The Hob, which is the trading post in town.
The story begins on the day of reaping at District 12. Gale is less showcased in this novel than he is in the rest of the trilogy but he is still an important character behind-the-scenes. She hands a berry to Peeta and takes on in her hand. Seneca Crane, the Games creator who obviously has mismanaged it bigly this time, finds himself locked in a room with nothing but a bowl of poison berries. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes adrenaline pumping, and mysterious books, or to anyone who just wants to read a fun, and interesting story.
Katniss and Peeta are the victors, but, having stuck their collective finger in the Capitol's eye, are advised to seriously watch their backs in the future. Katniss makes it back to the cave and gives Peeta the medicine. There are a few examples of antithesis in the book. The animals are more genetic engineering on the part of the Capitol. There is pomp and color, a complete contrast to gloom in the districts. She rubs it on her burn and feels instant relief. Katniss intends to do this but sees an orange backpack nearby that may be full of supplies.
Katniss decides to go, needing medicine for Peeta but waits till he is asleep to sneak away. That night she receives a loaf of bread from sponsors who pooled their money in District eleven. Peeta also announces in an interview that he has a mega crush on Katniss. Our Heroine, and her buddy Gale. When the tribute is killed and Peeta saved, the dogs retreat. He felt it would endear her to the crowd.
Together with Peeta Mellark, they head by train to the Capital to be prepared for the brutal game. The Main characters in the book are Katniss Everdeen, Prim, Peeta, Gale, haymich, and evee. In the first part, we are taken to the districts and witness their pain. When teaching The Hunger Games, the book has many correlations and similarities to events in history. The object is to attract sponsors.
This revelation stuns Katniss, who harbors feelings for , her friend and hunting partner. Part 1: The Tributes In the first third of the book, we are introduced to our protagonist, Katniss Everdeen. Neither you, nor the coeditors you shared it with will be able to recover it again. But she falls in love with the other competitor, Peeta. The others, including Peeta, manage to escape. Exposition The exposition of the book is when it's reaping time for the hunger games. For most of the series, it follows Luke, a shadow child or third child who tries to live his life while not being discovered.
Before she is rushed away, Katniss sees a group of Peacekeepers execute the old man. Thresh reveals that he is from District eleven and that he saved Katniss in tribute to Rue. The other tribute with Katniss and Peeta takes Peeta and threatens to kill him, saying that if Katniss shoots him or Peeta that Peeta will be killed. That night, while she hides in a tree from the pack of Careers below, she notices a young girl named Rue from District 11 in a nearby tree. I can't wait to read the rest of the series! Katniss does her best on stage but the real standout is Peeta who reveals that he has a crush on Katniss during the interview.
She was a red-headed girl Katniss saw runni … ng from the Capitol but didn't rescue. Katniss, Peeta, and Cato climb to the top of the cornucopia for safety. He tells her that the Capitol is furious at her and Peeta for showing them up in the games. Another one of my favorite parts was when Katniss was trying to think of a plan to destroy Cato and his alliances food. However, Peeta has been to kill Katniss, and he tries to choke her to death upon their reunion. Katniss immediately volunteers for her sister and gets taken away to the capitol with the male tribute. This is to remind the country not to rebel — and for entertainment, of course.
She does not see the love that Gale or Peeta hold for her and only begins to realize her own interest in Peeta accidentally after kissing him for the benefit of the sponsors. Prim is a twelve-year-old girl who is kind but often nervous in nature. He was the one that killed the girl. Peeta and Katniss have a connection to each other that begins before the start of the novel. She immediately hears the careers returning. She doesn't know where Peeta is, but is more worried about survival. The country consists of a wealthy Capitol city, located in the , surrounded by twelve originally thirteen poorer districts ruled by the Capitol.
